Abstract

Spontaneous cervical arterial dissection and patent foramen ovale (PFO) are important causes of stroke in younger patients. We tested whether characteristics of cerebral ischaemia visible on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) aid in differentiating between these two aetiologies.
