Abstract
In its first part the contribution sketches three assets Systematic Theology can gain from getting involved with Intercultural Theology: first, by referring to texts and nontextual appearances of the worldwide Christianity it's material horizon becomes widened; second it will be enriched by new methods and perspectives of interpretation; third, by bridging the gap between academic theology and religious praxis it achieves more relevance. In the second part the same three aspects are turned into critical questions towards current concepts of Intercultural Theology from the perspective of Systematic Theology. Isn't it necessary to distinguish clearer between theology as an intellectual endeavour and 'lived religion'? What is meant by "intercultural" as for example opposed to "transcultural"? Is Intercultural Theology considered to have only a descriptive task or should it also offer normative reflections? How do the topics of Ecumenical Theology come into play?
