Introduction. A Century after the Russian Revolution: Its Legacy in International Law

The great October Socialist Revolution, from which commenced the creation of a new socio-economic entity (. . .) initiated profound changes in international relations and international law. (. . .) (a) principles of socialist internationalism and relations between socialist states; (b) the principles of equality and self-determination of nations and peoples, whose spearhead is aimed against the system of colonialism, as well as against any national oppression and inequality; (c) principles of peaceful coexistence, aimed first and foremost at relations between states with different social systems. These ideas and principles of the October Revolution have operated in the direction of creating new international relations and a new international law.
